About
Meet Dan
After a successful micro-fabrication engineering career in Silicon Valley, Dan turned his energy and analytical skills towards a much different pursuit. Today, instead of diagnosing electronic devices, he uses the practice of Chinese Medicine to diagnose and treat patients.
Born and raised in Ohio, after graduating Summa Cu Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton, Dan moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to pursue a graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of California at Berkeley. Post graduation, Dan spent the next decade working as an engineer in Silicon Valley.
After turning to an acupuncturist successfully resolved several chronic health conditions, Dan became intrigued how the insertion of small needles could effect him so profoundly. Dan decide to pursue his curiosity at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco, and is now a licensed acupuncturist with the state of California.
Before relocating to the Coachella Valley to open a new practice in Rancho Mirage with the additional focus on cosmetic treatments, Dan operated a thriving acupuncture practice, Brannan Street Acupuncture, in the South Beach neighborhood of San Francisco for more than a decade.
WHY AN ACUPUNCTURIST?
Dan approaches microneedling from a traditional Chinese medicine approach — the serums used during a session include Chinese herbs that function to address your chief complaint. By making the skin more permeable, microneedling increases product absorption up to to 3000%,
Combining these techniques with cosmetic facial acupuncture can be an effective natural alternative to injection and fillers. Chinese Medicine has celebrated holistic beauty treatments for thousands of years, and the Cactus Needle is thrilled to bring these offerings to the desert!
